Shardiya Navratri, the divine Ninth Day: Devi Sidhidatri

Shardiya Navratri 2024 will end happily with Navami Puja. Vijayadashami is the festival of victory that is going to be celebrated this October on 12th. Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust brings some solutions for needy people every year. On the beautiful occasion of this Navratri, many works were done for the poor and deprived by the Paras Parivaar. To know more, you can also get information by visiting our website directly. The nine forms of Navdurga are worshiped with full devotion throughout India.

In Hinduism, the Dussehra festival is celebrated just after Shardiya Navratri. This festival, celebrating the victory of good over evil, further enhances the enthusiasm of Hindus. The entire month of October and November is dedicated to all the holy festivals of Hindus. A series of festivals is formed in both of these months. Maa Siddhidatri is the Goddess of the Last Day of Navratri. Devi Siddhidatri is the giver of Salvation and Siddhi. Maa is the most important among the nine goddesses, whose devotional worship leads to the attainment of 8 siddhis, which include Garima, Anima, Mahima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva. By worshiping Maa Siddhidatri as per the rituals, the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled soon. The Devotees who worship Maa Durga and her Incarnations get Success and Power to get heights in Life.

Form of Maa Siddhidatri:

The Facial Glow of Maa Siddhidatri is worth seeing, the radiance on her face is extremely satisfying. Maa Siddhidatri, believed to be the ninth incarnation of Maa Durga, is depicted with four arms. She also rides a lion and sits on a lotus. Weapons and flowers adorn the four arms of the Devi Siddhidatri. In which, there is a mace in one hand on the right and a chakra in the other hand, while on the left hand, there is a conch and a lotus in another hand. Maa Siddhidatri gives the desired results. Maa Siddhidatri, who is said to be the form of Maa Saraswati, is the most powerful among Navdurga.

According to popular beliefs and Mahant Shri Paras Bhai Ji, this form of Maa Siddhidatri was born to kill a terrible demon named Mahishasur. Mahishasur created terror and chaos in all three worlds after getting the boon of not being killed by the Devas. Troubled by this turbulent environment, the Devas thought it right to go to Tridev for help. As soon as Tridev heard the problem of the gods, his anger knew no bounds. A power in the form of fire came out of the mouth of Tridev, which when merged resulted in the birth of Maa Siddhidatri. Maa’s birth to kill the wicked proved fruitful, Maa killed Mahishasur after getting weapons from Tridev and other Devas. Due to this all the evil and unrest prevailing in the three worlds was destroyed.

According to Devi Puran and Paras Bhai Ji, Lord Mahadev performed the penance of Maa Siddhidatri to attain Siddhi. Through the blessings of Maa Siddhidatri, Mahadev gained 8 Siddhis, and because of her grace, half of Mahadev's body transformed into that of a woman. This is why Mahadev is also known as Ardhanarishwar.

Process of Mahanavami Puja:

On the ninth day of Shardiya Navratri, Maa Siddhidatri is worshiped with due rituals. After this, just like on Ashtami, on Navami also, nine small girls are offered Maa's Prasad

(Halwa, Puri, and Chana) at home for the worship of girls. Devotees of Maa also perform Yagya and Havan of Maa in their homes on Navami.

Devotees of Maa Bhagwati who worship her with devotion invite young girls, regarded as embodiments of the goddess, to their homes, wash their feet, and offer them the sacred food prepared for Maa Bhagwati. A langoor (a boy) is also seated with these nine girls. This process is considered auspicious, and this boy is also called Batuk Bhairav. After offering bhog to the small girls, the devotees chant Jai Mata Di.

During this time, there is a huge crowd of devotees in all the temples of Maa. During this time, young girls are worshiped by the devotees of Maa. According to Paras Bhai Ji and mythological beliefs, devotees should wear purple clothes on the day of worship of the ninth form of Maa. Worship of Maa Siddhidatri solves all kinds of problems and leads to attaining all Siddhis.
