After worshiping the four forms of Maa Durga, it is time to worship the fifth form i.e. Maa Skandamata. Worshiping Maa Skandamata helps the devotees to advance in their education level. In the images of Maa Skandamata, she is depicted holding her son Skanda (Kartikeya) in her lap. According to mythological beliefs, it is said that Kartikeya was taught by Maa Parvati. According to Paras bhai, it is believed that Goddess Skandmata creates consciousness.
It is said in Hindu religious scriptures that in ancient times there was a demon named Tarakasur. His death was destined to happen only at the hands of Mahadev's son. Maa Parvati gave Teachings to her son Kartikeya. Maa Skandamata gives war training, and then Skanda takes part in the war. Lord Skanda took part in the war as a commander and emerged victorious. After taking the Teachings from his mother, Skanda killed Tarakasur.
Maa Parvati was called Parvati because she was the daughter of Parvat Raj, and apart from this, the mother is also known by the names Maheshwari and Gauri. When the Maa takes her son Skanda (Kartikeya) in her lap, she is known as Skandamata. According to Mahant Shri Paras Bhai Ji and Hindu Puranas, the Maa fulfills the desire of having a child for those who worship Skandamata as per the prescribed rituals.
The supernatural form of Maa Skandamata:
Lord Skand is seated in the lap of Maa. Maa Skandamata has four arms. Two of these arms are holding lotus flowers and with the other two hands below, the Maa is holding Lord Skanda. Maa Skandamata's seat is a lotus, which is why she is also known as Padmasana. By worshiping Maa Skandamata, devotees get a solution to all the problems faced in getting a child.
While worshiping the Goddess, there should be a picture of Lord Skanda in the Goddess's lap, this way, along with the Goddess, Lord Kartikeya is also worshiped. Yellow things are offered to the Goddess as Prasad. By worshiping the Goddess and keeping in mind all the rituals, the Goddess is soon pleased and she showers happiness, peace, and prosperity in the house. Maa Skandamata is known for her kindness and benevolence towards her devotees. By worshiping her, devotees attain happiness, prosperity, and freedom from all kinds of troubles.
