Ahoi Ashtmi Vrat
In Sanatan Dharma, the beauty of relationships is represented in the form of fasts. You can pray to God for the relationships and connections you like and get the blessing of their ultimate good fortune. Just as women fasted for the long life of their husbands by observing the fast of Karva Chauth a few days ago, just four days after that, mothers fast and pray for the happiness and prosperity of their children by observing the fast of Ahoi Mata.
This immense festival is celebrated every year on the ashtami date of kartik month. The beauty of Indian culture can be understood on the basis of this fast. By observing this fast, the mother wishes for the happiness of her children. Just as all wives pray for the long life of their husbands by observing the fast of Karva Chauth, in the same way, in this fast too, mothers pray for the safety of their children.
In the evening, mothers break their fast after seeing the stars in the sky. Today, on 24th October, all mothers are observing this fast. Paras Parivaar wishes you very good health along with your child. The Ahoi mata Chowki is being decorated on the occasion of Ahoi Ashtami vrat and the devotees offer some fruits and sweets to Ahoi mata. There are also beliefs that women who observe this fast to get children, get children within a short time. In India, there are some beliefs hidden behind every fast and festival to be celebrated. On the basis of ancient beliefs and stories, today's generation also moves forward with the same mythological beliefs, due to which Sanatan Dharma is spread among the new generation as well.
Popular story:
Along with this fast, there is also a fast story from ancient times, listening to which mothers start their Ahoi Ashtami fast. Paras bhai ji told the story of a rich moneylender, who was blessed to have seven sons and seven daughters-in-law. To clean their home for the occasion of Diwali, all the daughters-in-law and their one sister-in-law went to the forest to collect the soil to make a new plaster for their home. All the seven daughters-in-law got busy with their work, and one of their sisters-in-law also started digging the soil. Then by mistake, Syau's child (who was sleeping in a burrow inside the ground) died due to the hoe used by the sister-in-law. After this, Syau, angry with the death of her child, started cursing her sister-in-law that she would never be able to become a mother. Then that girl said that all this happened by mistake, please do not punish me, I have not even started my life yet.
Syau then suggested that you should arrange for another woman's womb to be tied in your stead. Then the girl ran to her sisters-in-law and begged them to get their wombs tied in her place. All the sisters-in-law refused to do so, but the younger sister-in-law refused by saying that I have already lived my life, you have not even started your life yet.
After that, Syau bound the womb of her younger Bhabhi. After coming home, the younger sister-in-law saw that within just seven days all her children died one by one. After the situation became extreme, that woman asked Vaidya Rishi to find a solution to this. Then Vaidya Rishi advised her to serve the Surahi cow. The Surahi cow was very pleased with her service, after which she asked the younger sister-in-law to ask for a boon.
Then the moneylender's daughter-in-law told Surahi Mata that her best friend Syau Mata has tied my womb, you talk to her and get my womb opened. Then the cow mother said that for this you will have to cross the sea with me. While both were resting on the way, the moneylender's daughter-in-law killed the snake to save Garuda's small child from being bitten by a snake. Garuda was very happy to see this and left both of them with Syau Mata. The moneylender's daughter-in-law served Syau Mata due to which Syau Mata blessed her to become the mother of seven sons.
After this incident all mothers started having fasts for their child’s well being. So that all the obstacles coming in the life of their children can be destroyed. Paras Bhai Guruji heartily wishes all mothers and sisters for this fast. Hindu Dharma can be made supreme through this festival which represents the beauty of Hindu Dharma.
